After years of navigating between 'stan Twitter' and 'Black Twitter', I noticed a growing subculture, within the subculture of fandom, with unmet needs. When mainstream media treats whiteness as the default, Black fans often aren’t reflected in the media we support and consume. By sharing our stories, we can celebrate the spectrum of Black experiences in fandom, and explore how fandom and media can better support Black fans and our voices. - Ashley Briggs
